National Geographic Partners With Mazda For Photography Contest

“National Geographic” magazine and Mazda are partnering for a photography contest with the winner having a chance to be a “National Geographic” photographer.

The contest began on Tuesday and over the course of a month, the “National Geographic” and Mazda are inviting aspiring photographers to submit their work in consideration shared through the “National Geographic” Your Shot Instagram account. The contest invites emerging photographers to tell unique, uplifting visual stories that make them “Feel Alive” [Mazda’s tagline].

“National Geographic” and Mazda will then select three photographers to compete in a series of challenges, where they will be sent on expeditions to capture stories [touting Mazda’s brand] while being mentored by “National Geographic” photographer David Guttenfelder. The competition will be filmed for a 44-minute special to be shown on the “National Geographic” television network.

The winner will be announced in the early 2020 and will receive their first editorial assignment with “National Geographic” as well as have their original work published on “National Geographic”‘s digital platforms.
