Nelson Piquet, Jr. has secured a seat for the Chinese team in the inaugural Formula E Championship race next month for electric-powered race cars. Piquet Jr., the son of former Formula One world champion, Nelson Piquet, was formerly in Formula 1 and is currently the leader of the Global RallyCross Championship. Piquet, Jr.’s teammate will be Chinese driver Ho-Pin Tung.
The inaugural Formula E Championship race will take place in Beijing, China, on September 13, 2014.
