New Dirt Rally 2.0 Trailer Shows Off FIA World Rallycross

dirt rally 2.0

What can you expect from Codemasters’ Dirt Rally 2.0 when it releases next month? The game aims to be an authentic recreation of a real-world racing championship…how close have they come?

Dirt Rally 2.0 is the official game of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, and the dev team’s goal is to recreate the event as faithfully as possible. On launch day, Dirt Rally 2.0 will contain eight tracks from the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship, including Mettet, Silverstone and Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya, three tracks that never appeared in the original Dirt Rally. There will also be four separate classes of rallycross cars: the official Championship Supercars used in FIA World Rallycross, RX2, RX Super 1600s, and RX Crosskarts.

You’ll find some new Supercars to toy with in Dirt Rally 2.0: the Renault Megane RS RX driven by the GCKompetition World Rallycross team, the Audi S1 EKS RX quattro, and the PSRX Volkswagen Polo R Supercar which was driven to victory by 2018 FIA World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristofferson.

“Working so closely with IMG and World Rallycross has enabled us to create our most accurate World Rallycross experience,” says Jonathan Bunney, SVP of Publishing at Codemasters. “Working with official reference data from tracks, having great relationships with race teams and close access to the incredibly talented drivers gives us amazing insight into this really exciting and accessible sport. We are extremely pleased to have eight of the World Rallycross tracks in the game, with more to come in the post launch service.”

You’ll be able to experience FIA World Rallycross — or at least as close a facsimile as most of us will get — when Dirt Rally 2.0 releases for Playstation 4, XBox One and PC February 26. Experience the virtual version of World RX in Codemasters’ new trailer below.
