In a move that was completely expected and predictably underwhelming, ESPN has dropped its coverage of the dated National Hot Rod Association [NHRA] race series. What had been a popular sport in the 1960s and 1970s, gradually waned in popularity beginning in the 1980s. Despite the lagging popularity, there remained a loyal segment of viewership, which ESPN used to justify their continued broadcast of the races this century.
Fox Sports 1 will begin carrying NHRA races in 2016.
