Nissan’s experimental electric car – the ZEOD RC EV – used less than one hour of the 2014 24 Hours of LeMans race in France before a mechanical gearbox failure sidelined the car and knocked it out of the race. The car is similar to the DeltaWing car sponsored by Nissan in a previous LeMans [and which Nissan is being accused of design-stealing by Don Panoz, the architect of the DeltaWing].
The 24 Hours of LeMans is being televised on Fox Sports 1 and continues through June 14-15, 2014.
