No Way Norway! GM Plugs EV Vehicles For Super Bowl Ad

General Motors will be plugging their electric vehicles via the Ultium battery platform in a Super Bowl ad this weekend starring Will Ferrell and fellow actor/comedians Kenan Thompson (“Saturday Night Live”) and Awkwafina (“Crazy Rich Asians”).

The 90-second Super Bowl spot is entitled “No Way, Norway” because Ferrell is discovering that Norway outproduces the USA in electric vehicle adoption and decides he is going to teach those crafty Norwegians a lesson with the help of Thompson and Awkwafina.

The spot showcases GM’s Ultium battery platform while featuring upcoming Ultium-powered electric vehicles, such as the Cadillac LYRIQ luxury SUV and the GMC Hummer EV. GM claims will be releasing as many as 30 new EV’s to the global market by 2025.

Currently, [haha…] more than half of the vehicles sold in Norway are electric while, comparatively speaking, EVs made up less than 4% of market share in the United States in 2020.

“I’ve been driving an EV since the mid-80s….well, actually it was a regular car with 4 AA batteries taped to the carburetor, but it felt like an EV! We’re coming for you, Norway!!” said Ferrell in a release.
