Once Again, With Feeling – Audi/VW To Formula One?

The rampant rumors of Audi/VW going to Formula One refuse to be quashed and now they have emerged again as there appears to be a possibility that Red Bull could be powered by an Audi engine or even bought out straight up or partially by Audi/VW. Red Bull’s frustrations with their current Renault-powered cars has become so frustrating that team principal Christian Horner vented after the 2015 Spanish Grand Prix last weekend that he was writing off the 2015 season as well as the Bull’s chance to win any races in 2015.

Ever since Bernie Ecclestone-hater Ferdinand Piech was ousted from the Audi/VW board last month, the rumors had begun to intensify and are now at a near-crescendo as there have been some reports that Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz was shopping the team to Audi/VW and with former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo employed by Audi/VW, the transition could – in theory – be relatively seamless.

The 2015 Formula One season continues with the Monaco Grand Prix in Monaco at 5 a.m. [PDT] on NBCSN on May 24, 2015.
