OnePlus And McLaren Part Ways

The sponsorship deal between McLaren and OnePlus has ended and the phonemaker is no longer a 2020 Formula One partner of the team.

The brief [2018-20] OnePlus-McLaren partnership produced phones that were essentially, ramped-up versions of OnePlus’ normal phones. For instance, the OnePlus 6T McLaren holds 10GB of RAM instead of just 6GB or 8GB, while the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren has 12GB of RAM and 5G connectivity, unlike the standard 7T Pro version of the phone.

The latest version of the partnership was to produce the OnePlus Concept One – with McLaren’s logo and swathed in the company’s signature Papaya Orange leather finish. McLaren also supplied OnePlus with the electrochromic glass found in high-end cars for the Concept One’s camera.

But the McLaren OnePlus Concept One only appeared at the last CES [Consumer Electronics Show] and never saw an official release.
