Montezemolo Calls Ferrari American, Takes Car And Goes Home
After reportedly clashing with owner Fiat’s CEO Sergio Marchionne over the direction of the Ferrari brand as well as the recent poor Formula One performances from the racing unit, Luca Montezemolo has quit the company. Marchionne wants to expand the brand past its current 7000-car production limit and Montezemolo labels that expansion tactic as “American”, saying that “Ferrari is now American”. Montezemolo had been the Ferrari chief since 1991.
Pit Swap: Tony Stewart’s Crew Goes To Kevin Harvick
Stewart-Haas Racing has swapped the pit crews working with NASCAR drivers Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick with Stewart’s pit crew being sent over to work for Harvick prior to the 16-drive Chase Grid where Harvick is currently seeded sixth. NASCAR Signs 10-Year Deal With Comcast
Beginning with the 2015 racing season, NASCAR’s Nationwide Series will be the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the next decade, after the two organizations agreed on a deal that gives NASCAR $200 million. Comcast replaces Nationwide as the main sponsor for the past seven years. Budweiser had been the main sponsor for 26 years prior to that.
