Pagenaud Collects Check And Trophy For 2016 IndyCar Title

Simon Pagenaud officially collected both his 2016 IndyCar season champion’s trophy and $1 million check this week while his Penske team collected even more accolades as Penske claimed the top three drivers [Will Power and Helio Castroneves joining Pagenaud in those positions] in the racing series and obviously claimed the team title as well.

As if that were not enough, Pagenaud will be joined by a new teammate for the 2017 season as Josef Newgarden announced he will be joining Team Penske for next year’s racing season.

Pagenaud, the 32-year-old French driver, claimed seven pole positions and won five races in the 2016 season.

In related news, Indy 500 winner Alexander Rossi was named the IndyCar Rookie of the Year.
