Actor/race car driver Patrick Dempsey has announced that his racing team – appropriately named Dempsey Racing – is moving full-time into the 2015 World Endurance Championship racing series at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Dempsey, who is most recognizable for his role in the television series “Grey’s Anatomy”, had been racing for Porsche in the last three 24 Hours of LeMans races [racking up fourth and fifth-place finishes in two of the appearances] and will now go full-time into endurance racing.
Dempsey Racing will once again be teaming up with the Proton Porsche 911 RSR team and competing in the LMGTE Am class at the 2015 endurance racing events. Joining Dempsey as co-driver will be Patrick Long, who teamed up with Dempsey on both the fourth and fifth-place finishes at LeMans.
