Red Bull took the easy route and promoted Pierre Gasly from Red Bull’s junior team, Toro Rosso, to replace the departing Daniel Ricciardo for the 2019 Formula One racing season. The 22-year-old Gasly will now be subordinate to Red Bull’s crash-master, Max Verstappen.
Gasly made his F1 debut at the Malaysian Grand Prix in 2018 and has scored 26 points for Toro Rosso this year and has a best finish of a near-podium fourth place in the Bahrain Grand Prix.
