Pirelli Gets Formula One Contract Through 2027

Formula One has granted Pirelli the contract to supply the sport’s tires through the 2027 season.

The newest deal deems that all Pirelli tires be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council from 2024 onwards, enabling full traceability of forest-based materials in the supply chain and tree plantation management employs best practices that preserve biological diversity.

F1 is aiming to go net-zero carbon by 2030 and has already introduced new rules beginning in 2026 that will mandate the use of synthetic sustainable e-fuels.

Pirelli recently endured a moderate controversy during last week’s 2023 Qatar Grand Prix as drivers were prone to ride the circuit’s pyramid-shaped kerbs and thus incur enough tire damage to mandate a three-stop pit strategy from F1 for the race.
