Porsche Wins Rolex 24 At Daytona

Felipe Nasr joined Porsche Penske Motorsport last year and is already paying dividends as Nasr took the checkered flag in the 2024 62nd Rolex 24 at Daytona in Florida – Porsche’s first overall victory at Daytona in 14 years.

Nasr fended off Cadillac’s Tom Blomqvist, who started in pole position and was closing in on Nasr at the end of the race but came up 2.112 seconds short of the win.

It was only the second overall victory in the Rolex 24 for Penske, who won on the Daytona International Speedway road course in 1969 with a Lola T-70/Chevrolet.

Nasr’s driving teammates were Matt Campbell, Dane Cameron and Josef Newgarden, the reigning Indianapolis 500 winner who became the second reigning Indy 500 winner to win the Rolex 24 in the past three years [along with Helio Castroneves, who won in 2022].

Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti’s Louis Deletraz finished in the third and final podium position in the No. 40 ARX-06 as Acura.
