IndyCar driver and Ohio State college football fan, Graham Rahal, commissioned a race helmet replica of his Ohio State Buckeye football team. The Buckeyes won the national college football championship last year and Rahal wanted to honor that achievement by racing in a helmet that resembled the Buckeyes’ football helmet with leaves for accomplishments and all. After debuting the helmet at the Honda 200 at the Mid-Ohio Speedway last week, Rahal won when a late pit stop coupled with a timely caution flag gave him the victory over current series points leader Juan Pablo Montoya. It was Rahal’s third career victory.

Not wanting to press his luck any further, Rahal has decided to retire the Ohio State Buckeye helmet undefeated – at 1-0 – and place it in his home as a souvenir.
