Red Bull Could Be Mercedes-Powered In 2016

Red Bull and their French engine supplier, Renault, have been at odds for going on two years now – ever since Sebastian Vettel won the last of his four consecutive Formula One world championships – and that rift seems to be nearing an end as Red Bull indicated they may have Mercedes supply their engines for next year’s racing season.

However, while Red Bull and Renault do seem to favor parting ways, the major hurdle in the plan will have to be cleared by Lotus being bought out by Renault – thereby clearing a vacancy on Mercedes’ roster in 2016.

The 2015 Formula One season continues with the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps at 5 a.m. [PDT] on NBCSN on August 23, 2015.
