Red Bull was fastest in the first practice session for this weekend’s 2023 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, with Max Verstappen doing the honors.
Verstappen was slightly ahead of Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso [who has a significant floor design upgrade for this weekend’s race] and seven-time Formula One world champion, Lewis Hamilton, of Mercedes [who have a minor floor design upgrade for the race].
The lone highlight – or lowlight – of the session was when Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg slid off the track and spun through the gravel trap into the barriers, damaging his car’s front wing.
