Red Bull Sticks With Honda Engines To 2024

Red Bull’s Formula One teams will continue to use Honda engines and technology to 2024 even though Honda is not pursuing participation in the sport at the end of the current season.

Honda will continue to develop the engine through 2021 and ensure it is ready for the introduction of a new rule for the 2022 Formula 1 season that requires 10% of the petrol used to be composed of bio-fuel.

Although Honda is exiting F1 after the 2021 season, the company has already designed a new engine for the season to compete against the dominant Mercedes.

Red Bull elected to use Honda engines and technology rather than become a customer of either Mercedes, Renault or Ferrari.
