Renault has announced Frederic Vasseur has stepped down from his role as team principal prior to the 2017 Formula One season.
Vasseur joined Renault as racing director last year then was promoted to team principal during the summer break when Cyril Abiteboul moved into a factory role. Vasseur has been credited with luring Nico Hulkenberg from Force India for the 2017 season.
The 2017 Formula One season begins in mere weeks with the first winter test in Barcelona, Spain, on February 27, 2017.
