Renault has signed two-time Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso to a drive for the team beginning with the 2021 racing season.
The 39-year-old Spaniard Alonso has signed to race for the next two years for Renault [which, next year, will be renamed Alpine – after the French manufacturer’s sporting brand].
Alonso has started 311 Formula 1 races in his career and has produced 97 podium finishes and 32 wins on his way to his two world championships for Renault in 2005 and 2006.
