Ricciardo Expected To Get Christmas Bonus Pay Raise From Santa Red Bull

Daniel Ricciardo is expected to receive a pay raise for the 2015 Formula One racing season after finishing third overall in the driver’s standings for the 2014 season. Ricciardo began the season as the second driver for Red Bull, behind four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, but consistently outdrove Vettel over the course of the year and was the only non-Mercedes powered car to provide even an inkling of competition against the dominant Mercedes cars of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, who finished first and second overall, respectively.

With the departure of Vettel [and his salary] to be the top driver at Ferrari, Ricciardo now assumes the mantle of top driver at Red Bull and is expected to get a salary raise that doubles the approximately $1 million that he made for 2014.

The first race of the 2015 Formula One racing season takes place in Melbourne, Australia on March 15, 2015.
