Ricciardo Weighs A Few Red Bulls Too Much

Ricciardo was already clearly pudgy at Silverstone.

New Sebastian Vettel water bottle holder and second driver, Daniel Ricciardo, weighs 143 pounds – which is five pounds too much. Or two kilograms if you want to get all metric-y on us. Or about 9-10 cans of Red Bull if you want to get all sponsor-y on us. The reason Ricciardo will not be allowed to eat during the holidays? Formula One cars all must have a minimum weight limit and in 2014 there will be new, heavier, turbocharged V6 engines and with an extra five pounds said to take 0.1 seconds off a lap time, that means weight will have to be dropped elsewhere on the vehicle, but certainly not from any of the vehicle parts, whaddya, crazy?

The current weight limit for the upcoming 2014 season is approximately 1,521 pounds [690 kilograms].
