Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. Wins 2023 Daytona 500
Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. edged Joey Logano in double overtime to win the 2023 Daytona 500.
The 2023 Daytona 500 was winding down to a dramatic finish with several contenders vying for the victory when, after several multi-car crashes, the race went into, first, an overtime period and then a second overtime period where Stenhouse, Jr. edged Logano for the win.
The extra laps made the 2023 version of the Daytona 500 the longest in the iconic race’s history – 212 laps and 30 miles – but all the extra laps [and crashes] helped rally car driver, Travis Pastrana, who was making his first-ever Daytona 500 start after a storied X Games career – Pastrana finished 11th after starting dead last in the 40-car field [and even briefly led two laps of the race].
