Saudi Arabia Grand Prix Expected To Begin 2024 Formula One Season

Saudi Arabia is reportedly replacing Australia as the venue for the Formula One season-opening race in the 2024 season after an Australian state government statement announcing a two-year contract extension for the Australian Grand Prix until 2037 also said that Melbourne’s Albert Park track would host the opening race at least four times during the contract term, but Saudi Arabia would do so in 2024 “out of respect for Ramadan”.

Ramadan, the Muslim holy month, is scheduled to begin on March 11 in 2024.

Formula 1 has not confirmed that Saudi Arabia will be the venue for the 2024 season-opening grand prix but said, in a statement, that “…the 2024 calendar will be confirmed…later in the year.”

The Saudi Arabia Grand Prix uses a street circuit in Jeddah.
