Sergio Perez Available For Racing Point In 2020 Spanish Grand Prix

Racing Point Formula One driver Sergio Perez will return for this weekend’s 2020 Spanish Grand Prix after testing negative for the Covid-19 coronavirus.

The 30-year-old Mexican had missed the past two races at Silverstone after becoming the first Formula 1 driver to test positive for Covid-19 last month. Perez tested positive for the virus after reportedly traveling to Mexico – one of the world’s coronavirus hotspots – to visit his mother after she had an accident.

He was replaced by German Nico Hulkenberg, who was unable to compete in the first race at Silverstone after his car developed technical issues and could not start and qualified third in the second race but was unable to translate that into podium points by the end of the race.
