“Smokey and The Bandit” – the only film to successfully involve beer, a sheriff and a Pontiac Firebird is coming back to life – sorta.
The CMT cable network will air “The Bandit” – a documentary about the 1977 hit movie about the making of the movie starring Burt Reynolds and the on-screen stuntwork of Reynolds’ friend, Hal Needham. The film tells the story of the making of the film and features new interviews with Reynolds, rare archive material, including footage from Reynold’s personal archive, as well as candid interviews with the late Needham, who passed away three years ago from cancer.
The film is currently scheduled to air on CMT on August 6, 2016.
