The 2014 Rolex 24 At Daytona Is Over

The action Express Racing team’s Corvette DP on its way to victory at the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The inaugural race in the 2014 Tudor United Sportscar Championship season is finally in the books and after a rough start with a crash involving Memo Gidley and Matteo Malucelli delaying the early portion of the race, the winners have emerged after 24 hours of racing at the Daytona Raceway in Florida.

Prototype Class Winner – Joao Barbosa/Sebastian Bourdais/Christian Fittipaldi/Burt Frisselle, Action Express Racing, Corvette DP

Prototype Challenge Class Winner – Jon Bennett/Colin Braun/James Gue/Mark Wilkins, 54 Core Autosport, ORECA FLM09

GT Le Mans Class Winner – Richard Lietz/Patrick Pilet/Nick Tandy, Porsche 911 North America, Porsche 911 RSR

GT Daytona Class Winner – Nelson Canache, Jr./Tim Pappas/Spencer Pumpelly/Markus Winkelhock, Flying Lizard Motorsports, Audi R8 LMS [This result is under protest from the 555 Level 5 Motorsport team in their Ferrari 458 Italia, who won at the finish line but were penalized for a passing maneuver on the final lap]

The next race in the Tudor United Sportscar Championship series is 12 Hours at Sebring at the Sebring International Speedway in Sebring, Florida on March 15, 2014.
