The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro – A Short Review

The purveyors of AutoSportsNation recently had the opportunity to drive the 2015 version of the venerable classic American muscle car, the Chevrolet Camaro – unfortunately, the experience was significantly less than exhilarating. The vehicle we drove was black with a 3.6-liter V6 engine cranking out an alleged 323 horsepower. We say “alleged” because it never felt like it could muster even that paltry amount and when it felt like it was close, it was only because it required a nearly two-mile run-up to achieve that necessary highway speed.

If a car does not have power, then the next best virtue it can have is handling and here, we can say, without shadow of a doubt, that the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro handles almost exactly like you would expect of a damp eggplant. Wallowing from one side of a corner or curve to the other like a frustrated hippopotamus might work in scaring off humans in Africa and, come to think of it, it might work in scaring off humans in a test drive too.

That only leaves the interior as a final saving grace and ASN would like you to take a good look at that picture of the interior because that picture is actual size. The rear seating area is only attractive to legless infants and the sight lines are the same as if you took your Aunt Betty’s barn out for a drive and tried to look out the horse stall openings while driving it around. The air conditioning is useless [it was hot the days we drove the vehicle] and the emergency brake is on the passenger side just in case the passenger would like you to please stop torturing them in this vehicle – the only sensible interior item in the car.

If you are looking for some positive words about the car, well, it has an aggressive stance which some might confuse with making the car “look” cool but, in short, the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro? It sucks.

MSRP for our version was $26,535 and that was about $20,000 too much.
