The Grand Tour Season Three Episode Five – Review

“An Itchy Urus” was the title selected for the fifth episode of the third season of “The Grand Tour” which began with James May testing the Renault-owned 2019 Alpine A110 [not yet available in the USA] based on the 1973 world rally championship car but which carries a hefty price tag [$66,000] as it competes against the Audi TT Coupe and Porsche Cayman.

Conversation Street – aka Richard’s Rant – featured four subjects this week: a discussion among the fellas about the process of re-imagining old cars with new engines, the Kalashhnikov electric car, the W Series for women in auto racing and Richard’s rant on horses.

This was followed by Jeremy Clarkson’s testing of the Lamborghini Urus SUV in Sweden which was pitted against resident TGT professional race car driver Abbie Eaton in a Porsche around a special track.

Finally, Richard Hammond had a historical short film on the legendary race car driver, Jim Clark, as well as taking a brief spin around the track in a Lotus 25.

Overall, the episode was much better than the previous week’s effort and ASN awards it a solid 90 out of 100 [with a possible bonus point for Richard’s rant].
