The trailer for “Gran Turismo” – the feature film adapted from the popular PlayStation video game racing simulation franchise created by Polyphony Digital and Kazunori Yamauchi in 1997 – has been released.
Directed by Neill Blomkamp [“District 9” and “Elysium”], it is based on the true story of British teenager Jann Mardenborough, who – via Gran Turismo’s GT Academy – gradually takes his controller skills onto a real racetrack with hopes to become a professional race car driver.
Archie Madekwe plays Mardenborough, David Harbour plays his racing trainer, Djimon Hounsou is Mardenborough’s father, Orlando Bloom is a motorsport marketing executive and Darren Barnet plays his GT Academy driver rival.
“Gran Turismo” is currently scheduled to be released in August 2023.
