Top Five From Barrett-Jackson

The first Barrett Jackson Auction of the 2014 season is in the books and as usual, there were some impressive prices paid for some impressive vehicles in Scottsdale, Arizona. Leading the way was the $3.85 million paid for a 1967 L88 Corvette – the only one in existence featuring both a red exterior paired with a red interior – followed by a 1969 L88 “Rebel” Corvette [$2.6 million], Michael Schumacher’s 1998 F1 test car [$1.7 million], Carroll Shelby’s Cooper Monaco King Cobra [$1.65 million for the last one known to exist] and finally Simon Cowell’s black 2008 Bugatti Veyron at $1.375 million.

The top charity car at the auction was a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro for $750,000 – with proceeds going to benefit the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans.
