Toro Rosso Give Daniil Kyvat Another Chance In 2019

Red Bull has inexplicably signed Daniil “Krash” Kyvat to drive for their junior Toro Rosso team for the 2019 Formula One season. The Russian has been re-signed to drive for Toro Rosso next season despite being demoted and then dropped twice by Red Bull in the 2016-17 seasons.

The 24-year-old Kvyat has 74 F1 races to his credit and two podium finishes – second in the 2015 Hungarian Grand Prix and third in the 2016 Chinese Grand Prix – finishing as high as seventh in the driver’s standings in 2015.

The 24-year-old Kvyat was brought up to the senior Red Bull team in 2015 to replace Sebastian Vettel but after numerous crashes and race incidents, was demoted to Toro Rosso after the 2016 Russian Grand Prix [Red Bull brought up Max Verstappen] and was dropped altogether following the 2017 Singapore Grand Prix. [Although Kyvat was briefly reinstated for the USA Grand Prix when Toro Rosso had an empty seat for that race]. Since then, Kvyat has spent 2018 as a Ferrari development driver.

Kyvat’s 2019 Toro Rosso teammate has yet to be named.
