Toyota Gets Its FT-1 On

Toyota unveiled their FT-1 budding supercar entry at the North american International Auto Show in Detroit and if there was ever an example of a test tube crossbreeding of Italian and Japanese supercar genetics – the FT-1 is it. The FT-1 looks part Supra and part Lamborghini…or part Ferrari…or part Zonda – any one of those Italian stallions will fit the genetic profile. The car is designed as a front engine rear-drive beast that is reminiscent of the old 2000 GT days of glory or yore [depending on your viewpoint].

The only problem? The FT stands for Future Toyota, which means there is no announcement as to when – if ever – this concept car goes on sale as it appears today. However, it is immediately available for driving on “Gran Turismo 6” tomorrow…
