Truex, Jr. Claims First Win In Two Years

Martin Truex, Jr. has been hanging around in the top five of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings all season, but he never captured a victory – in fact, he had not captured a victory since June 2013 – but that all changed with his win at the Pocono 400. Truex, Jr. led for 97 of the 400 laps in holding off current Series leader Kevin Harvick for the win. Jimmie Johnson finished third.

Harvick maintains his overall 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series lead with 559 points while Truex, Jr. is second with 520 points and Johnson edges out Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano for third with 481 points to Logano’s 480.
