The Turkish Grand Prix Might Happen

A week after losing the Malaysian Grand Prix it appears as though the Turkish Grand Prix might be its replacement on the Formula One racing calendar as Turkish president, Tayyip Erdogan and and F1 CEO Chase Carey have reportedly “agreed in principle” to holding the race.

Before departing due to financial reasons, the Turkish Grand Prix ran from 2005-011 at Istanbul Park, which would most likely be the location again as circuit owner Vural Ak, who purchased the venue five years ago, was also present at the meeting between Erdogan and Carey.

Although a return to the Turkish Grand Prix has reportedly been agreed to in principle, no contract has yet been signed.
