Turkish Grand Prix Re-Added To 2021 Formula One Musical Chairs Calendar

Formula One continues to play musical chairs with the calendar as the the 2021 version of the Turkish Grand Prix – initially added as a replacement for the cancelled Canadian Grand Prix, then cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic – has been added again to the calendar, this time on October 3, 2021, as a replacement for the cancelled Singapore Grand Prix.

The 2021 Singapore Grand Prix was cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic travel restrictions.

The next currently scheduled race after the newly re-scheduled Turkish Grand Prix is the following weekend – October 10 – which would be the Japanese Grand Prix. But race officials in Japan are awaiting the completion of this summer’s Olympics in Tokyo before making a final decision on the race in Suzuka.

Formula 1 has already reported 27 positive cases in four months since the season began in March.
