Two Races Added To 2020 Formula One Racing Calendar

Two races have been added to the 2020 Formula One racing calendar – a debut Grand Prix at Mugello in Italy on September 13, and the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi on September 27 – giving the racing calendar a total of 10 races for the 2020 season. Formula 1 is hoping to add a few more races to reach a potential calendar consisting of 15-18 races this year.

Another new F1 venue – the Portimao track in Portugal – is expected to host a race after the Russian Grand Prix, but after that, it gets murky.

The Chinese Grand Prix looks to be off the board as the Chinese government has announced that there would be no international sporting events in the country for the remainder of the year other than trials for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Joining them in all likelihood will be the USA, Mexican and Canadian Grands Prix while the Vietnam Grand Prix is holding on to hope for its race.

The season is expected to end in the Middle East, with two races in Bahrain followed by the season-ending race in Abu Dhabi.
