With Daniel Ricciardo performing admirably for Red Bull and likely to be vaulted into the top driver spot for 2015, four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel has decided to both take advantage of a clause in his contract as well as accept a lucrative offer from Ferrari to join the Italian team while their current #1 driver Fernando Alonso is reported to be signing on with McLaren next year. Red Bull has said they will promote their top second team driver, Daniil Kyvat, from Toro Rosso, to take Vettel’s place behind Ricciardo.
The next race in the 2014 Formula One season, the Japanese Grand Prix, will take place at Suzuka on October 5, 2014.
