Viva Las Vegas! ASN Returns To The Inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix

Last month’s inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix was one of the signature events of the year on the Formula One calendar and ASN revisits the venue as part of our ongoing series.

The city’s casinos went all out to promote the grand prix – including putting images of race cars on betting tables for games within the casino.

Outside the casinos, the famous Strip looked surreal the day of the first practice session – foreboding what was to come later that evening – with little automotive traffic and foot traffic diverted by high fencing.

Along that fencing was the DRS [drag reduction system] zone – and the accompanying signage for the drivers – as well as its not-so-fancy construction of corrugated cardboard.
