Viva Las Vegas! ASN Returns To The Signature Inaugural Formula One Event Of The Year

The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix burst on to the Formula One racing scene earlier this month and although, unfortunately, it did not arrive in the time of Sammy at the Copa or Jerry at the Flamingo, it did bring with it a distinct sense of glitter and glamor that only Las Vegas can.

So, with apologies to Monaco – which will always be the best event [for fans] on the Formula 1 calendar – AutoSportsNation brings you a recap series looking back at this year’s signature F1 event in Las Vegas.

We begin the series with what everybody and their mothers have been talking about for the past year – the Sphere [some call it Orb, but, to be technically correct, it is the Sphere] – which was positioned around turns 6,7 and 8 on the race circuit [which looked like an upside down pig if you looked at the entire layout].

The Sphere had ongoing pre-race and post-race imagery being touted on its gigantic surface and this is a brief glimpse, captured from a Turn 6 vantage point, of some of the imagery being projected on the Sphere, accompanied by the continual musical entertainment on a stage below the Sphere which was occupied by famous musical artists for all three nights of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
