Volkswagen of America is returning to the Super Bowl adfest with a promotional campaign commemorating their 75th U.S. anniversary during next month’s Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, 2024.
Volkswagen of America’s promotional campaign highlights the arrival in the USA of the iconic Volkswagen Type 1 [aka Beetle] – in 1949 – and the Microbus – in 1950 – with both vehicles becoming popular and symbolic in the 1960s.
Although Volkswagen of Canada had a small spot in the 2022 Super Bowl, Volkswagen of America’s last incursion into the Super Bowl ad glut was in 2020 – but it only appeared locally in the Chattanooga, Tennessee market to tout that factory’s successes.
Nationally, Volkswagen of America last appeared with a Super Bowl ad in 2014 – the final year of a four year run.
