Back in the 1960s when owning a Ferrari meant you could actually trick them out and get another one if you didn’t like what you or the customization house did, the variations on the Ferrari themes sometimes extended beyond the scope of the Italian styling houses. Enter wealthy Italian nightclub owner Norbert “Robert” Navarro. Navarro had recently purchased a regular old garden variety 1966 Ferrari 330 2+2 but had probably had too much to drink and had seen a few James Bond movies, wanted to make it more exciting by adding fins and lasers and machine guns and an espresso machine and who knows what else for the hot babes to be attracted to it. So he commissioned Italian coachbuilder Carrozzerria [run by Piero Drogo, who had designed the 1962 Ferrari 250 GT] and they couldn’t put in lasers, machine guns or an espresso machine but they could add some fins and change the headlights and a few other things to what you see here. The car was then sold and brought to America where it traded hands over the years and now will be put up for auction at Pebble Beach where it is expected to bring a winning bid in the neighborhood of $400,000 to $600,000.
