Whew – That Was A Close One! Formula One Returns To Circuit Of The Americas In 2016

Circuit of The Americas confirmed today the return of the Formula One USA Grand Prix to the 2016 season schedule at Austin, Texas, on October 21st-23rd. Not only that, but instead of Elton John, COTA announced that this year’s concert will be the very F1-specific musical act of Taylor Swift – who will perform to who knows how many screaming teenage girls who don’t give a crap about F1 on Saturday, October 22nd after the qualifying session.

Last year, Lewis Hamilton clinched the 2015 F1 title at the USA Grand Prix and this year’s race will have the extra-added benefit of having the Haas F1 Team – the first American-led Formula One team since 1986 – on the grid.

Three-day weekend passes, which include access to a lawn seat for the Saturday concert, will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, April 6th at 10 a.m. at CircuitofTheAmericas.com.

Meanwhile, Circuit of The Americas’ F1 Fan Fest, the annual celebration of motorsport and music that takes place during the USA Grand Prix, will return to its original home in downtown Austin this year.
