It turns out that, of the eight Penske race car team drivers, none of them can accurately draw the state of North Carolina – and some of them cannot accurately draw anything that remotely resembles a U.S. state.
Joey Logano drew what looks like Iowa and Brad Keselowski drew what looks like Oregon – and that was close enough to give them a tie for the best rendition of North Carolina. Other interpretations but not really in contention were a backward New York from Ryan Blaney, an Ohio from Will Power, a West Virginia [or we would accept Rhode Island] from Josef Newgarden and a balloon with a string attached for Simon Pagenaud. Helio Castroneves’ attempt to eventually get to North Carolina by drawing the entire southeastern corner of the USA wound up looking like something not appropriate for children.
