Who Else Is Skipping The Super Bowl This Year?

Ford already announced they would not be airing any new advertisements for their vehicles during the Super Bowl this year and Nissan has joined them in skipping Super Bowl 50 – after returning to Super Bowl advertising for the first time in 18 years last year.

Nissan is focusing, instead, on its massive college sports advertising efforts where they have become the official sponsor of 100 colleges and universities around the country – and effort which will put Nissan’s name, logo and products onto college sports events for the next four years.

Last year, Nissan re-joined the Super Ad Bowl fray after an 18-year absence to promote the 2016 Maxima with a spot titled “With Dad” [below] along with the catchy tune of “Cats in the Cradle” by Harry Chapin – a notoriously depressing song about terrible parenting.
