Zandvoort Wants Zee Zany Formula One Races Back

Dutch seaside resort town Zandvoort is itching to get back into the Formula One circuit and the town council has voted approvingly of attempting to woo Formula One to its sandy shoreline Circuit Park track. However, it may just be wishful thinking on behalf of the town’s officials as the Circuit Park track would need to be updated to current Formula One standards and, of course, most F1 races these days lose money rather than make money for the host venues.

Zandvoort hosted the Dutch Grand Prix Formula One races from 1955-85 with the last race being won by Niki Lauda.

The 2015 Formula One season continues with the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos at 8 a.m. [PDT] on NBCSN on November 15, 2015.
