Ford topped the list of “most desired” vehicles, according to the first-ever Automotive Consumer Awards, a new survey collaboration between Newsweek and TechnoMetrica that ranks automotive brand loyalty, brands consumers most want to buy as well as those they are currently driving most often.

The results are based on responses from approximately 10,000 live telephone interviews conducted by TechnoMetrica over a 12-month period. The data was weighted by age, gender, region and race according to the latest U.S. Census figures.

Ford led the “most desired” brand list followed by Chevrolet, Toyota, Honda and Subaru. Meanwhile, the “most driven” list was also led by Ford, followed by Toyota, Chevrolet, Honda and Nissan.

Light-driving millennials had Chevrolet, Toyota, Honda, Ford and Subaru as their “most desired” ordering while Gen Xer’s arranged their order as Chevrolet, Ford, Toyota, Honda and Dodge.

The “most desired” luxury brands across all demographics were Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Lexus, Acura and Audi.

The “most driven” luxury vehicle brand is Mercedes-Benz, followed by BMW, Lexus, Acura and Cadillac.

Finally, Ford was at the top again for overall brand loyalty, followed by Toyota, Chevrolet, Honda and Nissan.
