Audi has decided they no longer want to play with the World Endurance Championship staple, Le Mans, and have instead switched over to Formula E electric racing series as their primary racing program, as of the conclusion of the 2016 racing season. Audi will participate in the 2016-17 Formula E racing season with the Team ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport team.
Overall, Audi recorded 13 victories during its 18 years of participation at Le Mans.
