Ecclestone Fraud Trial Set For October 2023
Bernie Ecclestone’s fraud trial – for his failure to declare $460 million in overseas assets from a trust based in Singapore – has been set for October 2023 by British courts. The 91-year-old former boss of Formula One boss has been charged with a single count of fraud by false representation.
Ecclestone’s assets stem from a period of time between July 2013 and October 2016 and he has denied the allegations in a court appearance in August 2022, while the court alleges that Ecclestone disclosed “only a single trust” to tax authorities – one in favor of his daughters – which the court also alleged would result in a “gain for yourself”.
Ecclestone may not be required to be present for all court proceedings.
