An ultra-rare [only three were built] 1956 Maserati 200 Berlinetta Gran Sport A6G designed by coachbuilder Frua and a merely rare [only 37 were built] 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder once owned by French actor Alain Delon are only two of the 60 vintage cars found in various states of disrepair on the French property of former 1950s-era shipping magnate and entrepreneur, Roger Baillon.
Baillon had purchased the vehicles between the 1950s and 1970s in hopes of creating an automotive museum but when those plans fell through, he was forced to sell off 50 of the vehicles yet that still kept 60 more, where they sat unsold and unattended on his property in western France. When he passed away 10 years ago, the remaining collection was inherited by his son, Jacques – but Jacques did nothing with them and when he passed away last year, his grandchildren sought advice from automotive experts who then discovered the astonishing and vast array of rare automobiles sitting in the fields.
Amongst the finds besides the Maserati and Ferrari were a Talbot-Lago T26 Cabriolet once owned by King Farouk of Egypt and a Hispano-Suiza H6B Million-Guiet. See full list below.
